The 2nd Shift Lead Operator will support supervisor with daily operations in the plating and polishing department during second shift. This role ensures production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in alignment with quality standards. The Lead Operator will provide hands-on support, monitor workflow, train and guide operators, and serve as the point of contact between team members and management.
Responsibilities
Lead, coordinate, and support plating and polishing operators during 2nd shift.
Ensure production schedules and daily targets are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Train, coach, and mentor team members on processes, equipment, and best practices.
Monitor equipment performance, identify potential issues, and escalate maintenance needs.
Oversee proper use of materials, chemicals, and tools in accordance with safety procedures.
Maintain accurate production logs, shift reports, and documentation.
Communicate effectively with the Supervisor and other departments regarding progress, challenges, and resource needs.
Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
Minimum 2?3 years of experience in manufacturing or metal finishing environment (plating and/or polishing strongly preferred).
Prior leadership or lead experience in a production setting is an advantage.
Knowledge of plating and polishing processes, equipment, and safety practices.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and foster a collaborative work environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Exposure to noise, chemicals, and machinery (with proper PPE provided).
