Primary Function:

The Plant Manager is responsible for the hands-on leadership of all the activities in a Lex Products Manufacturing Site. This includes responsibility and accountability for Safety, Production, Materials, Inventory Control, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drives Safety and Compliance first across the facility with a target of zero recordables and 100% completion of all required safety training and improvement projects
  • Ensures the efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability of site operations and Responsible for the facility requirements at this site. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Accountable for the facility P&L, ensuring costs remain below budget and flex as needed in concert with OneLex priorities. Drive the annual budget process at the site level to develop cost and productivity targets which support achievement of the revenue plan and profit targets
  • Accomplishes division objectives by assisting in establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections.
  • Drive continuous improvement and lean initiatives to improve the present manufacturing or production processes to boost productivity, quality, and profitability.
  • Implement the transition of new technology to make sure production continues successfully without interruption.
  • Ensure compliance with all business process with specific emphasis on QPL, ISO, EPA, DEP and other regulatory process compliance.
  • Establishes, maintains, and ensures compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all areas of Operations which properly document best practices
  • Establish, maintain, and drive improvement on key performance indicators in key operational such as Defect Free Rate, Cost, Labor Efficiency, Utilization and inventory accuracy
  • Establish and implement metrics as needed to reduce costs, improve efficiencies, improve quality, and improve delivery times.
  • Drive completion of annual and merit reviews for employees under charge for the purposes of attracting, maintaining, and encourage employees under charge to meet and exceed expectations
  • Coordinate communication between Lex facilities and departments to capture sales orders that grow company profitability and meet customer needs.
  • Cost- meeting budgets through financial review and costs related to building product through labor reporting
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to maintain employee compliance with company policies and procedures (including attendance and work rules) and assist with implementing/communicating disciplinary performance improvement plans when necessary.
  • Coach and Develop staff, drive RAP process, ensure employee goals across all levels of the organization are aligned and support OneLex initiatives.
  • Increases management\'s effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining.
  • Communicates values, strategies, and objectives; assigns accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; developing a climate for offering information and opinions
  • As this job involves business travel, one must maintain a current, valid driver license and clean driving record as determined by One Lex.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor\'s degree in Business Management, Operations/ Logistics or Engineering discipline, MBA preferred * Five plus years of managerial experience in multiple operational areas (Manufacturing, Materials, Planning, Distribution)
  • Proven track record of realizing improvements by utilizing Lean concepts
  • 5 -7 years\' experience working with production, purchasing and/or warehouse management in an ERP environment.
Abilities/skills required
  • Strong computer skills, especially, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a working knowledge of MRP/ ERP systems.
  • Good negotiation skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Good communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 verbal and written
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to interact with all levels throughout the organization

  • Experience in leading others and confidentially handling and remedying personnel issues.
  • Skilled in team building, monitoring and motivating others to meet group and individual goals and objectives.
  • Work is performed in both an office and Production/Warehouse setting.
  • Ability to travel on business as needed/requested.
