Our Brentwood facility is a key production site, and we are looking for a highly experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to lead our team and multi-state operations.
Role Summary:
The Plant Manager will be the senior operational leader at our Brentwood facility, primarily responsible for overseeing and optimizing the production of threaded rod in Brentwood and support the production needs of 5 other locations. This individual will ensure all manufacturing processes run smoothly, safely, and efficiently while meeting stringent quality and production targets. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in metal fabrication, specifically in the fastener or threaded rod industry, who can drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations & Production Leadership
Oversee daily manufacturing operations for threaded rod production, including equipment maintenance, scheduling, and resource allocation
Manage all production metrics (output, scrap rate, on-time delivery) and implement strategies to consistently meet or exceed production goals
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety (OSHA) and environmental standards
Lead strategic planning for facility capacity, capital expenditures, and process optimization
Responsible for all the raw material purchasing
Responsible for the vendor relationships (steel mills, etc.)
2. Quality & Process Excellence
Champion and implement Total Quality Management (TQM) principles across the facility
Direct Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) programs, ensuring all threaded rod and fastener products meet specified industry and customer standards
Drive continuous process Improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, minimize waste (scrap), and improve overall product quality
Troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues related to machinery, materials, or process deviations
Support and develop necessary functions on the Inxsql system
3. Team Management & Leadership
Provide direct leadership and mentorship to a production team of approximately 40 employees, including supervisors and production staff
Manage the performance cycle -hiring, training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions - to build and maintain a high-performing team
Foster a positive, safe, and collaborative work environment where employees are engaged and committed to operational excellence
Required Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of six (6) years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Management Experience: At least three (3) years of direct management experience, leading and developing a team of five or more personnel
Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in the fastener, threaded rod, or related metal fabrication/machining industry is highly preferred.
Skills: Demonstrated expertise and practical application of:
Total Quality Management (TQM), Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) systems
Process Improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma principles)
Expert in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office suite
Direct communicator, strong in compliance implementation
Ability to lead independently
Education: Bachelor's degree (Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, etc.), or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range: $90,000-134,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications
