Job Summary



The Plant Manager oversees the daily operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring that all employees complete assigned tasks and that safety measures are enforced. The Plant Manager trains, schedules, and oversees employees in the plant while simultaneously managing regulations, taking raw material inventory, and ensuring that the plant meets all goals for production and that all products conform to the specifications, drawings, and processes of the Quality Management System.

The successful candidate should possess a strong background in a variety of steel fabrication, and assembly processes including, forming, welding, machining, assembly, and paint. Proficiency in utilizing ERP systems with a demonstrated record of increasing output and productivity through employee involvement and process and flow improvements is also required. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Plant Manager



Assists in setting company goals.

Oversees daily operations and tasks in the plant to make sure all goals are met.

Devises strategies to make production more efficient.

Runs plant meetings.

Assign tasks to employees as necessary.

Creates presentations to outline new production strategies.

Hires new plant employees.

Trains employees.

Schedules employee shifts.

Monitors employee productivity.

Writes up reports of production activity and employee performance.

Maintains production records.

Conducts performance reviews.

Leads safety instructional sessions.

Enforces plant safety rules.

Takes inventory of supplies.

Orders supplies when needed.

Enforces company policies.

Disciplines or fires employees if necessary,

Assists in handling employee payroll and plant budget.

Maintains plant efficiency by motivating employees.

Maintain plant organization and cleanliness.

Addresses employee concerns and complaints and resolves problems and issues.

Refers employees to HR if needed.

Reports to the Director of Operations with updates.

Participates in the plant's strategic planning.

Inspect plant floor and equipment to ensure that everything is working properly.

Follow all company processes, rules, and regulations, per the Employee Handbook and Quality Management System (QMS) manual.

Demonstrates the ability to think creatively and innovatively to devise new production strategies.

Education and Experience



Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience.

Previous experience in the fabrication field is required.

Managerial experience preferred.

Bilingual (Spanish) Required



Work Environment



Work is performed in a factory, mill, or warehouse.

Time is spent on the factory floor and in a managerial office.

Work times may involve alternating rotation of day shifts and night shifts.

Physical labor, from walking to heavy lifting, is required daily.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
