Job Description


POSITION OVERVIEW:

The primary responsibility of the Pit Manager is to manage the High Limit casino pit areas ensuring superior guest and Member service while maintaining compliance with all gaming and Company regulations, policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Ensure that Pit Members comply with the rules, regulations, and directives of the Nevada Gaming Control Board and established Fontainebleau internal controls and procedures
  • Observe games, maintain vigilance against irregularities and deviations from established procedures; Concentrate on high end play, ensuring integrity of game and equipment
  • Report violations of any regulatory requirements or any actual or suspected irregularities immediately to the Shift Manager in a clear and concise manner
  • Interact with the Surveillance Department, advising them immediately of any possible problem areas or irregularities
  • Establish and maintain rapport with guests, providing the best possible service while attending to their needs
  • Attend to guest complaints with tact and diplomacy; Refer guests to the Shift Manager or above on decisions requiring higher authority according to Company policy
  • Ensure scheduling of Pit Members is at levels that meet business needs while ensuring Member fairness, adjusting as appropriate
  • Ensure Pit Members are cordial and courteous to all guests and peers; Emphasize teamwork
  • Attend to Pit Members complaints as they arise, resolving them in a constructive manner in accordance with Company policy
  • Conduct periodic Member performance appraisals in accordance with Company Policy
  • Inform Supervisors, Dealers, and Pit Members of changes in Company policies and ensure compliance
  • Identify opportunities for mentoring and development of staff, offering constructive feedback and guidance and promoting Member engagement
  • Verify guest ratings, cross referencing with the tables, and across the various gaming programs, ensuring accuracy of the System of Record
  • Research guest rating discrepancies, adjusting when approval granted
  • Maintain control and security of card, dice and key inventories
  • Verify all Marker issuances, redemptions, and partial payments
  • Verify all Rim action, check against rim card entries, verify unpaid commission amounts, keep shift manager informed
  • Recognize and respond to Minors in the casino, signs of problem gambling or alcohol intoxication, and suspicious transactions
  • Monitor the AML program for CTR compliance, proactively enter required guest information, prepare SAIR reports as necessary
  • Inspect gaming salons for VIP guests, ensure all gaming equipment is prepared and amenities are available
  • Communicate major gaming results to management, including the current, trip and lifetime win/loss
  • Prepare high action detail reports for management
  • Communicate all pertinent information to the relieving Pit Manager and the management team
  • Maintain a positive rapport and interaction with other departments
  • Provide Comps according to department guidelines
  • Possess a working knowledge of all department and company policies and procedures
  • Interview and select candidates for hire
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Two (2) years of Table Games management experience from a large, high-volume luxury resort and casino preferred
  • Working knowledge of Title 31 compliance
  • Interpersonal skills with focused attention on guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts
  • Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Fontainebleau appearance standards
  • Maintain consistent adherence to Fontainebleau guest service standards
  • Working knowledge of all NGCB rules, regulations, and Internal Controls
  • Ability to clearly present information through the spoken or written word; speak with guests or employees, listen effectively
  • Ability to demonstrate an elevated level of service delivery; to do what is necessary to ensure guest satisfaction, deal with service shortfalls, and prioritize guest or client needs
  • Ability to be tactful and polite, maintain confidences, and foster an ethical work environment; handle all situations with sincerity
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction contributing to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams
  • Exhibit enthusiasm and promote a positive group working environment, work closely with other departments as necessary; support group decisions and display team spirit
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include holidays, nights, and weekends
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises Supervisors and Dealers.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
