PLACE OF WORK: Dugway Proving Ground is seeking applicants for a Photographer with field experience for the Data Sciences Division, Test Referee Branch for Dugway Proving Ground, UT. Dugway Proving Ground is approximately 50 minutes from Tooele, Utah, and 90-minute drive from Salt Lake City, Utah. Job Responsibilities: Designs unusual configurations of specialized instrumentation cameras and associated equipment to acquire a photo-optical record of kinetic munition events as well as chemical and biological events under unusual test conditions. Conducts studies on feasibility of realignment and integration of existing equipment with newer, more advanced equipment. Works with engineers, computer specialists, communication specialists, and manufacturing representatives in the modification of existing equipment and systems as well as the design of new systems. Designs data collection systems and performs methodology studies to coincide with unique engineering requirements (e.g., the use of pyro thermos video imaging to record artillery impact pattern configurations and adaptation of acoustic optical acquisition to recover data occurring outside of the optics imaging area). At the GS-9 and GS-10 levels, assignments will be developmental in nature and you will be under closer supervision until you reach the full performance level of this position. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This definition of specialized experience is typical of the work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Specialized Experience for the GS-10: One year of experience which includes: 1. Setting up and operating still frame/video cameras and equipment. 2. Using photo editing software tools to manipulate digital photos such as - resizing, reshaping, cropping, adding text, or enhancing colors and features. 3. Using video editing software tools to manipulate digital videos by adding special effects, filters, animation or other techniques to improve image quality/product. 4. Writing specifications/justifications for new photographic or videography equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of the work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Specialized Experience for the GS-11: One year of experience which includes: 1. Setting up and operating still frame/video cameras and equipment in support of outdoor/indoor testing projects dealing chemical or biological components. 2. Using photo editing software tools to manipulate digital photos such as - resizing, reshaping, cropping, adding text, or enhancing colors and features. 3. Using video editing software tools to manipulate digital videos by adding special effects, filters, animation or other techniques to improve image quality/product. 4. Writing specifications/justifications for new photographic and videography equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of the work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.   • This position requires working occasional night and weekends depending on testing schedules.
  • This position also requires a willingness to work at remote sites on Dugway Proving Ground under increment conditions.
  • Employee must complete the contracting officer\'s representative course (ALMC-CL) through the Logistics Management College or equivalent to perform function as the contracting officer\xe2\x80\x99s representative (COR) on major procurement purchases within 12 months of appointment.
