Pharmacy Technician

Duration:

1 year contract

Shift Schedule:

8-hour shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM 7:30 PM, Monday Friday.


Hours may expand to evenings/weekends/split shifts based on workload/emergencies.

License /Certifications:

Certified by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board

Education:

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum Qualification/ Experience:

Minimum 6 months' experience in retail or hospital pharmacy

or

graduate of an academic Pharmacy Technician training program. Basic typing and PC skills.

Responsibilities:

Read/interpret prescriptions; identify missing info; communicate with providers/patients for clarification. Enter medication details (strength, dosage form, directions, quantity, days' supply) per MbM policy; process refills/renewals (pharmacist verifies). Work various queues (e.g., add providers to MbM database; support specialty teams). Operate pharmacy automation and office equipment (scanner, fax, printers, software). Use pharmacy systems to flag basic therapeutic issues (e.g., duplicate therapy) for pharmacist review. Process returned medications per policy. Perform call-center tasks per policy/law; document oral disclosures in EHR. Report medication errors/quality issues per MbM Quality & Safety program. Participate in medication histories/allergies/ADR/compliance reviews with patients/caregivers.
