Job Description

This is a full time position in MLIH's Pharmacy located at our 3 Mile location in Logan, WV.



The Pharmacy Technician will perform many pharmacy-related functions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and perform administrative functions of the department that do not require professional judgment and extensive technical training.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



Prepares prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist and fills stock replacements. Makes requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacist. Orders, receives, and maintains inventory of drugs and chemicals, and ensures their security. Helps maintain an orderly, clean environment including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies. Enters data into the computer system, recording prescriptions, purchase orders, stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements. Under direction of pharmacist, removes unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepares for return or disposal. Performs general clerical duties for the department. Greets consumers at the front window of the pharmacy. Answers calls to the pharmacy, assisting consumers and directing calls to the pharmacist, as needed. Takes payments consumers and is responsible for the cash drawer of the pharmacy. Responsible for the timely delivery of medications and pharmacy supplies to proper destinations, serving as delivery driver.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


High School Diploma or equivalent and the ability to complete a training program by our pharmacist or have a current Pharmacy Technician (PHT) license (preferred). Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, use of an automobile and valid auto insurance coverage.
