The Pharmacy provides pharmaceutical services to patients across the continuum of care. Services include, but are not limited to verification of medication orders, drug distribution, sterile product preparation, hazardous drug preparation and a meds to beds program for inpatients.
Pharmacy technician II is a certified pharmacy technician position who supports pharmacy services by assembling and participating in the distribution of medications. A pharmacy technician II will need certification by a nationally recognized certification board. This position will assist the department's professional staff, under direct supervision, in numerous aspects of ordering, receiving, storage, distribution, and monitoring medication use.

Description:
Pharmacy Operations & Compliance (40%)
Maintain infection control; keep area clean
Fill, label, and stock meds per laws
Inspect stations, rotate inventory
Handle controlled substances
Simple non-sterile compounding (USP 795)
Restock meds/emergency boxes, monitor waste
Stay current on regulations
Customer Interaction & Communication (40%)
Greet providers/patients; refer drug questions
Complete documentation; attend meetings
Answer profile inquiries; know formulary
Train and mentor new staff
Logistics
& Workflow (20%)
Deliver meds accurately, stock cabinets
Perform calculations
Finish tasks before shift; report issues
Prioritize by pat
Requirements: o Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy (KY hospitals), within
30 days
of hire date if you are a new registrant. If previously registered, you must have registration upon hire. Nationally certified as a pharmacy technician OR Pharmacy Intern license
