Job Description


Role summary:

Field-based (Home office or Cigna location) Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) sales position responsible for developing and successfully executing new business sales within existing payer partners to meet or exceed assigned annual sales goals on targeted partners. Experience in the PBM industry is required. Proven sales success through channel sales partners; distributor or producer network is highly desired.

This role can be located anywhere in the US.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for new business sales with existing key payer partners either by selling directly with brokers or partnering with TPAs to get to their brokers.
  • Meet or exceed annual sales goal as measured by new contracted lives by working with key Payer partners, pharmacy director and existing business development leaders.
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales meeting requirements which will demonstrate strong execution of sales process.
  • Identify and develop an in-depth understanding of each sales prospects needs, goals, objectives, their buying and organizational influences, and their decision-making processes.
  • Record and manage all sales activities in SalesForce.com. Activities include strategy documents, internal and external sales meetings.
  • Lead the request-for-proposal (RFP) analysis and management to ensure best practices.
  • Represent Cigna pharmacy at finalist meeting and in the market.
  • Remain current on PBM industry trends and competitive knowledge.
  • Maintain positive working relationship with internal Cigna departments and their team members.
  • Actively participate in monthly Growth calls and quarterly Portfolio reviews.
  • Any other tasks as defined by management and/or client needs not named above, as required to support our internal and external stakeholders, clients, and partners.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years\' experience in the PBM industry is preferred.
  • Proven sales success through channel sales partner is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated track record of quota attainment.
  • Proven ability to manage a sale independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work through the organizational processes needed to support sale (e.g. clinical in nature, exceptions, etc.).
  • A self-motivated individual displaying ownership, accountability and responsibility.
  • Operational understanding and competence with PBM business model.
  • Understanding the financial and pricing strategy of PBM.
  • Excellent presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to define business requirements and communicate these requirements to other teams.
  • Must be capable of handling multiple project and assignments concurrently, work independently and pro-actively.
  • Experiences with Salesforce.com.
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office; PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time depending on candidate\'s location with little notice.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
