Reporting to the PGS Sanford North site leader. The PGS Operations leader (opsl) -will provide.
Overall leadership for manufacturing functions essential for PGS and Pfizer centre 1 Drug Substance (DS) manufacturing. The Opsl is accountable for achieving business objectives and meeting the plan of record. The Opsl is accountable for ensuring manufacturing suites are run in accordance with both current safety and compliance regulations. The Opsl will lead Integrated manufacturing excellence and innovation within function. The Opsl sits on the Sanford North site leadership team and is expected to sponsor and lead site-based projects either within function or across function. The Opsl is expected to fully participate in all SLT activity.The Opsl has the accountability to provide strategic direction for their function and for Sanford North and is expected to leverage resources at and outside of site. The Opsl provides leadership and provides direction (both technical and strategic) into external stakeholders to PGS Sanford North manufacturing. The Opsl has the accountability to develop and coach the talent within the function and to positively impact talent develop across PGS Sanford North and the network.

  • Participates as a fully active member of the PGS Sanford North site leadership team. The Opsl has responsibilities for delivering on the site strategy via sponsorship and leadership of both functional and cross functional projects. The Opsl is expected to be an active participant on all cross site steering teams \xe2\x80\x93 integrated business planning, site quality review team, site safety and the leadership forum and champion strategic change

  • Manage and lead all aspects of drug substance manufacturing \xe2\x80\x93 to include operational, tactical, and strategic. The Opsl is accountable for setting the strategic direction for the manufacturing suites and ensuring its alignment with both the site and the network. the MDV is aware of the external environment and the changes needed to address future challenges

  • This includes safety and quality performance and compliance to BOH regulations, adherence to the PGS and PC1 production plan of record

  • The Opsl has the accountability to Lead the budget and resource planning process for the PGS manufacturing suites

  • Develop ways of working that will support and contribute to the site Actively caring safety culture and will meet all required environmental and industrial hygiene requirements

  • The Opsl has the responsibility for setting the goals for his/her leadership team in line with the sites strategic goals

  • The Opsl has the accountability to advance the manufacturing suites use of Right First Time/Six Sigma/ Innovation problem solving methodologies and lead efforts to advance use of Operational Excellence tools and innovative solutions to sustainably drive continuous improvement

  • The Opsl has the responsibility to provide a platform of open communication within the function / within the site and between the site and the network/business

  • The Opsl must be active in developing relationships within Pfizer and establishing relationships outside of Pfizer that will be beneficial to the site and PGS performance

  • The Opsl Supports and actively collaborates with Quality, Engineering , Site Technical Services, PC1 and Regulatory to meet the expectations of Board of Health inspections, and when necessary, support regulatory submissions

  • Responsible for functional talent planning and development that includes coaching and mentoring, development and performance management. The Opsl must be active in identifying and coaching site talent

  • The Opsl must embrace and demonstrate leadership in our cultural journey, have change management abilities and bring innovative ideas to increase awareness, participation and engagement


QUALIFICATIONS
Must-Haves
  • A minimum of 10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry with previous leadership experience
  • Must have experience of leading in a new facility start up
  • Must have administrative, managerial skills, technical report writing, computer, and presentation skills.
  • A working knowledge of cGMP regulation is required.
  • Good communications and ability to interact across functional and divisional boundaries.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including effective team and individual development skills .
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a \xe2\x80\x9cmatrix\xe2\x80\x9d organizational environment, transcending organizational boundaries, while leading change and delivering innovative solutions to the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to seize accountability, to hold people responsible, and to act decisively.
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.


Nice-to-Have

  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree and relevant pharmaceutical experience.

  • Experience in mammalian cell culture manufacturing.

  • Operational experience manufacturing with single use technology.

  • Experience and skill in business management and finance.
