Job Description

VetPride Services, Inc. is seeking workers to perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in pest control, grounds maintenance, carpentry, and masonry. The pest controller will perform minor repair of equipment and practical skill, knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as pest control and grounds. Work involves a variety of the following duties: herbiciding, inspections, testing, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. Periodical trouble-shooting inspections of buildings and grounds, considering size and type of environment, e.g. parking lots, yards, railroads, fences, and storage areas to detect potential weed pest. Keeps detailed records of inspections conducted on each building, type and amount of pesticide sprayed or disposed of. The Pest Control worker will work under the direct supervision of the Pest Control Manager.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Trenching Digging Crawling crawl spaces Drilling Roadway dead animal removal Herbicides inspections Testing and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery Periodical trouble-shooting inspections of buildings and grounds considering size and type of environment, e.g. billeting, offices, food service areas, storage areas, and warehouses to detect potential infestation Keeps detailed records of inspections conducted on each building and type and amount of pesticide sprayed or disposed of

Excluded are:

Craft workers included in a formal apprenticeship or progression program based on training and experience. Skilled craft workers required to demonstrate proficiency in one or more trades; and Workers performing simple maintenance duties not requiring practical skills and knowledge of trade.

Qualifications and Skills

Must be at least 18 years of age. Will be subject to a pre-employment criminal background and DMV check. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen. Regularly work outdoors in inclement weather including rain, snow, heat and cold. Consistent attendance and reliability required. Ability to effectively read, write, and speak English. Must have the ability to work independently and within established guidelines, follow directions, and work well with others. Must be able to work off a ladder (up to 16' tall) or Aerial lift (scissor lift)

Experience Requirements

Must have a minimum of (2) two years directly related/recent experience. Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience.

Required Licenses or Certifications

High school diploma or equivalent Must possess a valid/current state issued driver's license Must be certified in the specific areas of pest control in which they are working (ie. trapping, bird control, termite control)
