Permitting Coordinator Join a rapidly growing and close-knit team! NextGen Builders, LLC. is a regional home builder, and we\'re looking for a Permit Specialist to guide our customer\'s homes through the permitting process. You will work across departments with architects, designers and construction managers. The Permit Specialist reports directly to management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Including but not limited to the following)
Applying for all relevant permits for each job
Electronic file retention for all permits, data entry and digital organization
Assembly of Start packages for construction superintendents
Coordinate plan changes, expired permits, and permit rejections
Energy calculations tracking and updating for permitting
Truss engineering tracking and updating for permitting
Plot plan tracking and updating for permitting
Working drawings tracking and updating for permitting
Check requests tracking and updating for permitting
Coordination and tracking of permit packages
Utility Setup for Communities
HOA Approval Submissions
Permit package assembly
Product Approvals Document Assembly and Updating
Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Must have understanding of City/Municipality permitting process
Must have direct experience obtaining permits from Arizona cities/municipalities
Must have good understanding of local building codes
Attention to detail required as well as an open mind to process improvement
Strong organizational skills
Analytic mindset and ability to think outside of the box
Education & Experience Required
3+ years experience in permit processing
Highschool diploma required,
Two years of experience in general office work, customer service, permit processing or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.
