Overview:
Environmental Coordinator Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance to PepsiCo Global Environmental Health & Safety Standards (GEHSMS):
    • Assist in providing leadership for the implementation, enforcement, and continuous improvement of the site\xe2\x80\x99s environmental policies and processes.
    • Support Safety/Environmental programs owners and coordinate quarterly program reviews.
    • Coordinate Environmental audits & assessments to achieve a Best-in-Class status.
  • Support Internal Environmental Compliance Agenda to include:
    • Adherence to the Environmental Compliance Protocol through the engagement and development of team members to ensure compliance to policies and procedures.
    • Conducting Environmental Investigations for spills, exceedances, and other environmental incidents.
      • CAPA (Corrective Action Preventive Action) investigations should identify root causes to eliminate program exceedances and provide recommendations for process, procedure, and/or equipment changes to eliminate future occurrences.
    • Completion of required site compliance inspections at the correct frequency as well as ensuring timely communication and follow up with affected stakeholders.
    • Maintenance of the site\xe2\x80\x99s environmental objectives, targets, and action items.
    • Assistance in the development and participation in the site PEP+ Green Team
    • Facilitating and/or providing training for current employees and new employees.
    • Acting as site administrator for the internal safety and environmental system MyEHS, MySDS, and any other environmental systems.
    • Ownership of the environmental calendar to ensure and coordinate on-time task and action plan execution.
    • Leading environmental projects and offsite volunteer opportunities/events for the PEP+ Green Team.
    • Participation in audits and inspections of the site
    • Attending internal as well as external training events to keep up to date on changes in regulatory requirements and adjusting site programs to comply with these changes accordingly.
  • Communicate internally and externally with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance to Frito Lay EHS standards and coordinate applicable inspections.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure applicable Local, State, and Federal (EPA, SCAQMD, IEUA, LACSD, DTSC, CUPA, etc.) regulations are met and applicable requirements are documented, submitted, and correctly maintained.

Working schedule:
  • Monday to Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (8 hour day).
  • Overtime eligible.
Qualifications:
  • Educational level: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or closely related fields - preferred
  • Candidates without a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree must have a validated experience of 2-4 years in progressively responsible and diverse positions in environmental compliance
  • Familiarity with State and Federal environmental agencies, environmental permitting
  • Technical knowledge of Environmental Management Systems
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be a confident communicator, (including both written and verbal skills) and must be able to effectively present to all levels of the organization
  • Proficient computer skills \xe2\x80\x93 Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Data trend analysis
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Must be able to flex schedule as needed to include overtime, holidays, weekends, and other shifts
  • Must be able to work safely
  • Other duties as assigned


Compensation and Benefits:
  • The expected salary range for this position is between $44,000 - $69,450 per year.
  • Location confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.
