Daily start and end times are flexible, depending on school needs and the applicant's availability. Possible hours: 7:30 a.m., 8:00 a.m. or 8:30 a.m.



until 3:00 p.m. or 3:30 pmExperience Requirements: Experience working with children; classroom teaching experience a plusAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writingMust be comfortable working in a culturally diverse environment and committed to embracing differences and valuing multiple perspectivesEducation/Certification Requirements: High School DegreeClear CORI and MA fingerprintingGeneral Responsibilities: Assist or lead in preparing for the academic, organizational, and social achievement of children, as well as, supporting their safety and well being.Specific Responsibilities: Educational Program & Student Services: Deliver clear expectations for academic responsibilities and class routinesGive lessons to students in groups and to individual students as directed by Lead Teacher (LT) or Director Supervise students on field tripsRecognize when students are not meeting academic or behavioral expectations and communicate this to LT or DirectorFollow recommendations for students (when shared by LT or Director) with an IEP, 504 or neuropsych evaluation and insure that they have the supports in place to be successfulSupport students with individual behavioral plans (when shared by LT or Director)Supervise children regarding emergency practices such as fire drillsConstituent Relations: Build productive relationships with parents when opportunities to interact with parents occur (dismissal, assemblies, etc.)Administration: Assist in daily attendance in FACTS (Student Information System)Report all accidents/ incidents to LT or Director and complete accident forms as neededPerform duties related to arrival/dismissal of schoolPerform lunch/recess dutiesSchool CultureDemonstrate a strong commitment to professional ethicsDemonstrate an understanding of and commitment to Montessori Education by modeling the Montessori values of grace and courtesy, respect and responsibility in visible daily actionsDemonstrate commitment to competent communications and conflict resolution efforts across the school communityProtect the privacy and confidentiality of each student and colleagueOtherTake on duties as assignedIt is expected that all staff will function as self-directed members in a team effort.
