Description: Location: Fort Smith, Arkansas Compensation: $22.00-$25.00 per hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week Ideal Option has been working on the front lines of the opioid epidemic since our first clinic opened in 2012. With more than 80 clinics across 11 states, we continuously strive to be the nation\xe2\x80\x99s leading provider of low-barrier evidence-based treatment for opioid use disorder. We are looking for a Peer Outreach Specialist to join our growing team and help us in our vision to give back lives, reunite families, and heal communities that are suffering from the devastating effects of substance use disorder. - Develop relationships with existing and potential community partners, referring providers, potential patients, and other stakeholders with direct outreach, field marketing, attendance at community events, meetings, workshops.
- Work at various partner sites throughout the area each week to raise awareness for Ideal Option\xe2\x80\x99s services and guide staff members and patients through virtual intake and provider visits.
- Provide education and training to community-based organizations and providers about Ideal Option, medication-assisted treatment, and substance use disorder to broaden acceptance of addiction as a chronic disease and continue to reduce stigma and misconceptions about the disease.
- Certified peer counselor preferred.
- Must have own transportation
- Must be extremely reliable and punctual when attending meetings, events, and staffing our onsite services.
- Must be extremely responsive and comfortable using online communication and collaboration tools.
- Must be comfortable working both in the field and at a home-based office and have a flexible schedule to allow for occasional after-hours events or travel.
- Work experience in the social service field and or in the area of substance use disorder treatment is preferred.
- Lived past experience with substance use disorder and recovery (self or loved one) is preferred but not required.
