Job Summary: Payroll Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including data input, calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees.
  • Verify timekeeping records, attendance and leave balances to calculate hours worked and resolve discrepancies.
  • Work directly with union auditors to provide requested documentation.
  • Monthly union reporting and reconciliation.
  • Prepare and process fringe benefit payments.
  • Make weekly tax deposits.
  • Responsible for reviewing, maintaining and, collecting updated union collective bargaining agreements along with current wage rate sheets.
  • Backup payroll processing and certified payroll reporting.
  • Review, maintain and update employee SUI tax state within the employee record.
  • Reconcile, maintain and update employee PTO balances between systems to ensure accuracy of available time off balances.
  • Complete requests for employee payroll information (i.e. garnishment review, verification of employment, unemployment claims)
  • Maintain accurate and up to date payroll records, including employee information, tax withholdings and benefit deductions.
  • Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
  • Supervise payroll team, provide guidance, and foster a positive and supportive work environment.

  • 3+ year Payroll supervisor experience with a solid understanding of payroll processes and tax regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure precise payroll calculations and data accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
  • Union experiences (preferred)
  • Problem solving abilities to address payroll-related issues and discrepancies promptly.
  • Multi state payroll
  • Construction Industry and Union Knowledge
  • Certified Payroll knowledge
