Overview:
M Health Fairview has an immediate opening for a Patient Services Coordinator to support the Chisago Lakes Clinic. This role supports the Flex Workforce. Flex workforce employees regularly travel to multiple clinics to fill open shifts and \xe2\x80\x9cregular\xe2\x80\x9d travel is defined as the expectation to be available to travel 100% at any time to different locations based on the business needs. The length of the assignment at a location will vary based on need (i.e. 1 day for ill call or an extended period of time), which includes the expectation to travel to more than one clinic during the day at a moment\xe2\x80\x99s notice. The nature of travel expectations (100%) and schedule expectations (unpredictable) provide a clear distinction between flex workforce employees and the expectations for travel (none or occasionally) and schedules (predictable) for other employees.


This is a .8 FTE (64 hours per two week pay period) opening.

This role will cover the Chisago Clinic, Wyoming Lakes Clinic, Hugo, and North Branch Clinic locations Responsibilities/:
The Patient Services Coordinator performs a variety of clerical functions to support the provider and patient care staff. The Patient Services Coordinator is responsible to notify the provider of any schedule changes, schedule patient appointments, ensure patient medical records and reports are available, and prepares applicable medical record forms. Relays messages to and from physicians, nurses, CMA\xe2\x80\x99s and other resources necessary for patient care.

Job Expectations:

  • Coordinates activities of nursing station to support provider and patient care staff.
  • Orders and maintains adequate stock of office supplies.
  • Verifies provider schedules and notifies provider of add-ons, cancellations, no shows, etc.
  • Performs telephone message taking and directs communication in a timely fashion.
  • Requests/obtains patient reports as necessary.
  • Effectively uses communication systems for both routine and emergency transactions.
  • Calls in prescriptions-new/refills to appropriate pharmacy.
  • Manages medical record flow.
  • Requests/obtains medical records for patient visits, as needed.
  • Locates and searches for medical records in nursing station.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

Qualifications: Required

Education

High School diploma/G.E.D.
Experience

Additional Requirements
Excellent public relations and communication skills. Good telephone and computer skills. Must be flexible. Must be efficient. Willingness to work at other sites is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
