Job Description

The

Patient Care Liaison

plays a key role in creating an exceptional patient experience by coordinating all front-office activities at DeNiel Foot & Ankle Center. Working in collaboration with clinical staff and leadership, this individual ensures efficient patient flow, provider support, and superior service in every interaction.

This position involves performing

advanced front-desk, administrative, and patient communication tasks, including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, collections,

and

documentation management

. The Patient Care Liaison upholds the values of compassion, professionalism, and efficiency while contributing to a supportive and patient-centered environment.

PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



Coordinates the daily flow of patients, ensuring accurate check-in, check-out, and schedule management. Serves as the first point of contact for patients, delivering warm, professional, and personalized service. Provides support to clinical staff by managing communication between patients, providers, and other healthcare partners. Collects and documents copays, balances, and deductibles prior to visits. Educates patients regarding insurance benefits, billing expectations, and appointment procedures. Assists with onboarding new staff, serving as a resource for front-desk training and workflow guidance. Collaborates with the Practice Manager to assess and improve front-office protocols and procedures.

SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



Demonstrates initiative in organizing, planning, and executing all aspects of front-desk operations to ensure seamless clinic flow. Schedules appointments, procedures, and virtual visits accurately in

AdvancedMD

, confirming insurance coverage and documentation completeness. Coordinates referrals, ensuring inclusion of all necessary records (facesheet, order, visit summary). Manages phone calls, emails, and text communications promptly and courteously. Provides high-quality customer service that reflects the mission and standards of DeNiel Foot & Ankle Center. Ensures that documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) is complete, accurate, and compliant with established policies.

QUALITY / SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



Maintains compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards in all communications and documentation. Monitors front-office workflows to identify areas for improvement and operational efficiency. Supports coordination of care with referring physicians, imaging centers, and home health providers. Proactively reviews patient charts for accuracy before visits. Role-models professionalism, accountability, and service excellence, contributing to improved patient satisfaction metrics.

FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



Collects copays, coinsurance, and deductibles prior to service and reconciles all payments daily. Reviews verification of benefits (VOB) and communicates patient financial responsibility. Monitors outstanding balances and assists billing staff with patient follow-up. Ensures all end-of-day reconciliation reports and receipts are accurate and submitted to management. Supports practice growth by maintaining strong relationships with referring providers and delivering outstanding patient experiences.

GROWTH / INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



Identifies opportunities to streamline administrative processes for improved patient care and efficiency. Participates in front-office training and continuous education programs. Collaborates with leadership to implement new workflows and enhance technology utilization. Demonstrates a learning attitude toward problem-solving, using initiative and sound judgment.

EDUCATION



High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or certification in medical administration or healthcare management preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE



Minimum of

2 years

experience in a medical front desk or patient services role required (podiatry or specialty practice preferred). Experience with

AdvancedMD

or similar EHR platform strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience managing insurance verification, patient scheduling, and payment collection.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES



Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first approach. Knowledge of medical office procedures, insurance verification, and HIPAA compliance. Proficient in Microsoft Office, electronic communication, and EMR systems. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain calm and empathy in a fast-paced setting. Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and attention to detail.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
