Job Description
Patient Access Representative St. Charles Hospital is a 243-bed, acute care community hospital located in Port Jefferson, NY. The non-profit hospital features three centers of excellence: Maternal/Child services, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. St. Charles also offers services in general surgery, colon/rectal surgery, bariatric surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, pediatrics, diagnostic imaging, emergency medicine, epilepsy, stroke care, Female Pelvic Floor Disorders Center, and a nationally accredited Sleep Disorders Center. St. Charles is renowned for its outstanding customer service and scored as one of the top hospitals on Long Island in the delivery of high quality care. We are currently searching for Patient Access Representatives to join our team.
- Qualified candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a minimum of one year of experience in Revenue Cycle Management or Patient Access Services functions.
- Understanding of insurance, pre-certification requirements and medical terminology.
- Strong computer skills.
- Customer focus with strong interpersonal skills; problem-solving skills;
- The ability to handle confidentiality appropriately; demonstrate professionalism
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to multi-task.
