JOB SUMMARY:

Our Pastry Chef will lead a dedicated team in the creation of delectable pastries, bread, and desserts, ensuring consistently, high quality, and innovation. This role includes menu planning, cost control, and ensuring rigorous food safety standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of three pastry cooks
  • Create, innovate, and refine pastry, laminated dough, bread, and dessert recipes
  • Oversee baking of various bread products with an emphasis on quality
  • Lead production of laminated dough with consistent quality
  • Plan and execute pastry offerings for large events
  • Maintain high standards in presentation and taste for all pastries
  • Develop a unique pastry or desert to be used for turn-down services, enhancing the overall guest experience
  • Craft delectable pastries tailored to enhance the experience of spa guests
  • Develop and offer pastry options for customers with special dietary requirements, such as gluten-free or vegan options
  • Efficiently manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs
  • Collaborate on menu creation and updates
  • Assist in budget planning and cost control
  • Engage with customers, solicit feedback, and adjust offerings
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Culinary arts degree, preferred
  • 5-7 years in pastry and baking roles with a focus on laminating and bread baking and experience with Banquets
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Strong creative aptitude for pastry and dessert concepts
  • Proficiency in laminating techniques, bread baking, and pastry production
  • Experience in menu planning and adaptability
