Apiary Fine Catering & Events is searching for a full-time Pastry-Chef Assistant. This full-time, hourly position has dynamic work hours that require availability 5 to 6 days per week in accordance with scheduled Apiary events and/or private events both on-site and off. The Apiary Pastry Chef Assistant is communicating any institutional information or nuances that may not be assumed by the Pastry Chef or demonstrating proper Apiary standards and procedures throughout the work day. Otherwise, Pastry Chef Assistant is responsible for completing tasks delegated from the Pastry Chef via the daily prep list. Items can include, but are not limited to pastry production, inventorying, purging, cleaning, organizing to aid in the success of the department.
Minimum 5 years of cooking experience is required. Resume and cover letter are required.
Average work week is 5 days and approximately 50 hours per week.

Proficient in English
Ability to stand on your feet for several hours, including, on rare occasions, a day lasting as long as 16 hours
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
Distinguished in knowledge and execution of ingredients, cooking methods and techniques
Ability to multitask with multiple cooking methods and manage a team while doing so
