Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer Mentor & Delivery Coach, you'll work directly with client engineering teams to raise technical standards, coach developers, and guide delivery practices that align with HTD's principles of trust, transparency, and execution excellence.
You'll serve as both a senior technical mentor and a delivery transformation coach--bridging the gap between strategy and code. You'll help teams improve how they design, build, deploy, and deliver software that truly drives business outcomes.
The Responsibilities
Conduct weekly workshops (1-2 hours) and daily coachings (3 hours) on software engineering topics that will impact real-world projects/programs.
Provide one-on-one and group mentorship, debugging support, and technical guidance.
Mentor client developers in modern software engineering practices.
Guide teams in building scalable, maintainable systems using modern stacks.
Review architecture, code quality, and technical decisions -- enabling teams to balance speed with sustainability.
Champion engineering best practices including automation, observability, and security-by-design.
Pair-program or co-develop when necessary to model technical excellence.
Support HTD's continuous improvement by contributing to playbooks, frameworks, and reusable assets.
The Qualifications:
4+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
3+ years of coaching, tech leadership, or mentoring experience in a professional setting.
Exceptional communication and facilitation skills -- able to build trust quickly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to simplify complex technical topics and inspire continuous improvement.
Strong understanding of software development principles and frameworks:
Python 3.10+, Django 5, DRF (JWT, OpenAPI, ModelViewSets)
Testing (pytest)
Linting/coverage standards (ruff, pylint, CI checks)
