What You'll Do

As our

Part-Time Accountant

, you will help strengthen our financial systems and ensure accurate grant management. Your responsibilities include:

Developing and maintaining a system to manage our grant funds. Ensuring compliance with

record-keeping, auditing, and reporting

requirements. Preparing and submitting

monthly expense reports by the 25th of each month.

Supporting leadership with clear, organized, and transparent financial tracking.
This role is perfect for an experienced accounting professional looking to contribute their expertise to a mission-driven nonprofit while maintaining a flexible, limited-hour schedule.

Basic Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications Required:

CPB, CMA, or CPA (any one of these will be considered). Excellent

accounting, communication, and professional skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet recurring deadlines. Comfortable working independently and maintaining accurate financial documentation.

Expected Outcomes

well-organized grant management system

that meets all compliance and reporting requirements.

Accurate monthly expense reports

delivered consistently by the 25th of each month.

Streamlined financial documentation

that supports future audits and grant renewals. Increased confidence among leadership and funders in Beyond Rhetoric's fiscal accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Prior experience with

nonprofit accounting

or

grant management.

A personal connection or

compelling motivation to support youth in detention

or reentry programs. Currently employed and seeking to

supplement income

through meaningful part-time work.
