Norwalk Hospital, part of Nuvance Health is seeking a full-time Palliative Care Physician located about 50 miles from New York City. The palliative care team consists of expert physicians, advanced practice nurses, social workers, and chaplains, supports more than 700 patients a year.

The ideal candidate will be board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified or board eligible in Palliative Care. This is an employed position with a collegial and stable team. Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and is also a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 50,000 ED visits per year and is a teaching hospital, associated with University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our Medical Group includes 900+ employed physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Job Summary:

Work across the continuity of care in an in-patient setting with the opportunity to expand across the community and will require working in both an in-patient program and exciting outpatient programs and outreach to extended facilities and Primary Care settings. Position included a rotating call schedule.

Job Requirements:

  • MD or D.O. degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy with CT State License and Federal Narcotic Use Registration
  • 3-5 years of experience in a palliative care service setting preferred.
  • Have completed an Internal Medicine Residency and a Fellowship in Palliative care
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine or other fields
  • Board Certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine BLS & ACLS
