Catalent Pharma Solutions is Philadelphia, PA is hiring a Packaging Technician in the Operations Department. The Operations Department is responsible for providing customized innovative manufacturing and packaging solutions. The department oversees all manufacturing and production aspects of quality packaging and labeling of our customer\xe2\x80\x99s clinical trial projects.

This is a full-time hourly position: Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday, 8:00am \xe2\x80\x93 4:00pm

Please Note: Occasional weekend work is required.

Catalent offers GMP secondary packaging and clinical labeling services throughout our global network. Packaging can be configured to hold a single product or multiple products as determined by study requirements. We offer manual patient kit assembly along with semi-automated and automated wallet sealing and high-speed automated carding to meet the needs of studies of all sizes. For temperature sensitive products and those with minimal to zero allowable time out of environment, we can perform secondary packaging in refrigerated and frozen packaging rooms or over dry ice depending upon your project needs. Using our Clinicopia global labeling system with its multi-lingual label phrase library we can design single panel, booklet labels or our unique Peel-ID\xe2\x84\xa2 safe storage labels for your studies. Single panel and Peel-ID\xe2\x84\xa2 safe storage labels can be conveniently reviewed and approved online via our Fusion portal before being printed and inspected at our facilities.

The Role

  • Inspect blister cavities for missing product, burnt product, holes in foil, print registration, missing print, crushed blisters and seal integrity. Inspect blister units and place them into properly assigned card locations for multi-fill operations.
  • Fill tablet, bottle, desiccant and closure hoppers. Hand count product using counting trays.
  • Responsible for cleaning machine equipment and production rooms as stated in cleaning SOP\xe2\x80\x99s. Fill in all appropriate information in the cleaning logbooks.
  • When working on look-alike products you are only allowed to work with your assigned product. Multi-fill projects require that employees do not touch or help out other employees that are assigned different products.
  • Responsible for cleaning production rooms with three bucket sponge mop cleaning system which includes ceilings, walls and floors. Responsible for cleaning product contact parts.
  • Sealed clinical cards must be inspected for missing copy, poor seal, smudges and dirt, misalign blister units and burnt product.
  • Inspection required for vials, ampoules and syringes utilizing black and white light boxes.
  • Cold storage packaging will also be required working with cold product both outside and inside refrigeration conditions.
  • Assembly work required which may include utilizing barcode scanning equipment and computers.
  • All other duties as assigned.
The Candidate
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years previous production or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand customer specifications, cGMP\xe2\x80\x99s and SOP\xe2\x80\x99s.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions in an accurate manner, and effectively communicate.
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment on a frequent basis
  • Physically able to perform duties which include cleaning and sanitation of rooms (mopping of walls, floors and ceilings, sanitation of machinery and equipment) and any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds
