Job Description


As an Ops Risk/Control Analyst I in the Performance & Controls Management team you will support Custody Services teams by performing data/process analysis that support numerous audits, quality operations, finance and performance initiatives. You will work with data sets from varied sources and systems, to identify root causes, and to collect/define business requirements and deliver results. You will form strong partnerships with Custody Services stakeholders to support their finance, control, legal and/or regulatory needs, as well as change control and readiness.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contributes to delivery of information, insights, and solutions that inform business strategies and decisions.
  • Contributes to the development of predictive models and data insights.
  • Gathers and analyzes information and processes for analysis and reporting purposes, including validating hypotheses, mitigating risks, and optimizing solutions.
  • Participates in operational, financial, and technical activities to ensure cross-team alignment, while ensuring adherence with legal, controls, and regulatory guidance.
  • Provides stakeholders with ongoing information and reporting.
  • Delivers on requests (BAU and ad hoc) while ensuring deadlines, documentation, compliance, and registration requirements are met.
  • Specializes in Mortgage and Securities data sets and systems for BAU and Ad Hoc reporting needs supporting Document Custody

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
  • Experience: 3+ years\' management reporting and data analysis
  • Tools: Intermediate proficiency and routine utilization of MS Excel and SQL. Minimum of Basic proficiency and routine utilization of PowerPoint, Alteryx, and Tableau
  • Data Literacy ( Intermediate Proficiency): Ability to read, write and communicate data in context; understands data sources and analysis/data tracing/mining techniques; use of appropriate controls from source through analysis; communicates meaningful insights to inform decisions that drive impact
  • Maintains proper risk and control environment (Intermediate Proficiency): Adheres to compliance with audit, legal, and regulatory requirements; Applies risk and control management practices to prevent/reduce risk
  • Stakeholder Management (Intermediate Proficiency) : Establishes productive and collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders to drive mutually beneficial outcomes; Communicates clearly and often with internal stakeholders, keeping them involved and informed on relevant decisions and impacts
  • Analytical/Strategic Thinking (Intermediate Proficiency) : Uses data/facts to research, detect, and understand issues and opportunities; Able to consider the big picture and to evaluate potential scenarios to see impact and risk; Critically evaluates data/information, ideas, arguments, and points of view to improve problem solving and decision making
  • Communication/Presentation (Foundational proficiency): Ability to create and/or deliver presentations (oral & written) across various levels (peer, manager & stakeholders); Ability to deliver messages in clear and compelling language with appropriate tone; Engages/Interacts others through active listening and acknowledging other\'s concerns/perspective; Able to purposefully ask well thought out questions to gain information and promote deeper understanding; Summarizes discussion or audience\'s perspective to confirm understanding and alignment

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, MIS, Data Analytics, or Business Administration
  • Intermediate knowledge of the policies, procedures and systems pertaining to mortgage banking servicing, operations, or originations; Intermediate knowledge of the policies, procedures and systems pertaining to Mortgage operations.
  • Experience collaborating in both on-site and geographically diverse environments
  • Demonstrated time management skills, ability to multi-task and handle multiple parallel tasks
