Overview

Hayward designs, manufactures, and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, heating, cleaners, salt chlorinators, automation, lighting, safety, flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China. This position is based in Nashville, TN.

Manage the overall operation, direction, and coordination for the production department to ensure continuous flow and on-time delivery of products in the safest, most efficient manner exceeding our customer\xe2\x80\x99s expectations. Areas of responsibility will include coordinating and enforcing plant safety protocols, all assembly lines / areas for gas heating, heat pumps, sheet metal fabrication, and other associated manufacturing / fabrication areas. Oversee and coordinate activities of all materials, human resources, and equipment to meet production schedules. Coordinate schedule service / spare parts. Interview and manage training of staff for production areas. Direct reports are Senior Operations Supervisor(s).

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
  • Controls quality, cost of production.
  • Manage production schedules and estimates employee hour requirements for completion of job assignment within budgeted labor hours.
  • Interprets company policies to workforces; promotes and enforces safety policies and regulations.
  • Ensures that operators are trained in the safe and effective use of equipment and machines.
  • Ensures departmental quality standards are maintained.
  • Identifies and takes corrective action when need to keep production on track, communicates upward when objectives cannot be met in recovery plan.
  • Schedules and maintain continuous cross training of work force.
  • Interprets specifications, routings, bills of materials, and job orders to workers and assigns duties.
  • Assists in the development of standard work procedures and observes employees to ensure compliance.
  • Design and implement improvements in production methods, equipment, workflow and quality of products.
  • Review with manufacturing engineering all vendor bids for assembly equipment and process improvements. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment that will increase labor efficiency.
  • Analyze and work to resolve problems, or assist employees in solving work problems.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees in achieving work goals and expectations.
  • Perform personnel evaluations of assembly employees.
  • Maintain time and production records, which include daily production attainment reports.
  • Confers with department supervisors and/or managers to coordinate schedules, materials, quality, personnel, production needs, ECN\'s, plant activities, and scheduling changes.
  • Monitors any offline preventative maintenance activities for assembly equipment and tooling.
  • Fully support all Kaizen-related activities as defined by the Plant Manager and KPO Manager.

  • or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree (four-year college or university)
  • 7-10 years related manufacturing experience
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, AS/400 Microsoft D365.
  • Direct experience of various quality systems (Lean, Six Sigma, ISO).
Work Environment: The noise level in the shop requires hearing protection and eye protection is required on the shop floor. Steel-toed safety shoes are required when working around moving parts.
