If you are an ENGINEERING STUDENT looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! This role is an exciting opportunity to support the Professional Tools business. Based in our ELYRIA, OHIO location, you will work closely with a small team focused on the deployment of a machine-monitoring solution that helps us understand the causes of machine downtime. You will get a healthy mix of analytical and on-the-shop-floor work as we implement a Root Cause Countermeasure (RCCM) process and participate in the supporting improvements to improve machine uptime.

AS AN OPERATIONS CO-OP, YOU WILL:

Assist with the deployment of machine uptime monitoring software to identify the most important opportunities to improve machine uptime.
Help develop and execute a Root Cause Countermeasure (RCCM) process to improve machine uptime.
Participate in other continuous improvement and cost reduction activities in the plant.
Write standard work and help train other Operations team members on new procedures.

WHO YOU ARE:

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Sophomore or higher class status
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Some coursework related to Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience or coursework in simulation software like Simcad or Arena
