Job Summary

Perform all receiving functions related to any chemical that is delivered to customer site locations. Identify and enter chemicals into the site container tracking system. Properly re-name and barcode chemicals returned to the stockroom which may involve identifying, re-naming and bar-coding prior to placing into inventory. Determine proper chemical segregation and place item(s) in the appropriate location based on hazard classification. May locate, dispense, and prepare to ship or deliver chemicals in a timely basis. Create and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

In this role, you will report to the Hiring Manager and will work closely with the Avantor\xe2\x80\x99s Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel \xe2\x80\x93 and our customers \xe2\x80\x93 to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for

Education: High school diploma required; Associates or bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Logistics/ Chemical inventory management is desirable (or equivalent work experience) is required

Experience: 1-2 years of chemical /hazardous management experience required.

Experience: Experience: 1-2 years of laboratory setting experience, expediting, / business experience highly preferred.

Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Valid Driver\'s License and Reliable Transportation

Proven time management, forecasting knowledge, and/or expediting experience.

Ability to work independently to prioritize multiple competing tasks.

Knowledgeable of GHS hazard classifications and pictograms

Proficiency with MS Office suite

Strong problem - solving & analytical skills.

Presentation skills

Solid written and verbal communication skills

Avantor\xe2\x80\x99s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:

Receive various hazardous chemicals as requested by global staff. This may involve identifying, re-naming, and bar-coding prior to placing into inventory.

Utilize the inventory management system, dispenses/deliver chemicals from containers to researchers or requester.

Order chemicals for chemistry personnel are received by stockroom staff and checked for accuracy, registered into an inventory database, assigned to the user and returned to the loading dock.

Add enhanced descriptions when registering containers including adding relevant details such as GHS hazard classifications, regulatory lists, concentration, mixture, etc.

Segregate all incoming chemicals and those returned by scientists in the stockroom by hazard class, DOT requirements, etc.

Provide daily maintenance of inventory using customer systems.

Maintain the accuracy of the chemical inventory by scanning all chemical inventory in the stockroom and in the labs.
