Office Leader / Senior Engineer

Responsible for leadership and direction of office operations \xe2\x80\xa2 Supervise staff within the office and perform periodic performance and goal setting reviews \xe2\x80\xa2 Promote teamwork and camaraderie, maintains culture and positive office environment \xe2\x80\xa2 Coordinate billing projections and invoicing with project managers and accounting department \xe2\x80\xa2 Participate in company management and leadership activities \xe2\x80\xa2 Lead weekly office meetings and participate in team meetings \xe2\x80\xa2 Keep a pulse on capabilities and capacity of team members to help make the best decisions for the team \xe2\x80\xa2 Assist in the recruitment of new staff

We are seeking a motivated leader to direct our MEPT team\xe2\x80\x99s growth and development efforts, with special emphasis on the healthcare and higher-ed markets. This is a principal-track position with potential ownership opportunities within the first several years. ESSENTIAL DUTIES \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain existing relationships and develop new client relationships \xe2\x80\xa2 Direct and coordinate business development and proposal activity \xe2\x80\xa2 Coordinate with office/regional team leads on resource scheduling \xe2\x80\xa2 Act as main point of contact for clients \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure quality control reviews are performed for all projects \xe2\x80\xa2 Act as a mentor for junior staff \xe2\x80\xa2 Participate in department activities \xe2\x80\xa2 Advise and assist in the creation and maintenance of design standards and technical resources \xe2\x80\xa2 Serve as engineer of record and lead design activity on selected projects \xe2\x80\xa2 Manage full MEPT design team on select projects

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES \xe2\x80\xa2 Independent judgements such as setting task priorities, evaluation results, coordinating with others, etc. \xe2\x80\xa2 Skills in understanding, explaining, teaching, and influencing people are important to achieving job objectives, causing action, or understanding in others \xe2\x80\xa2 Requires in depth knowledge of own discipline (electrical, mechanical, or technology) and a knowledge of construction in general. \xe2\x80\xa2 Requires the ability to integrate theoretical and practical information and apply that information for construction projects \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent communication and human relation skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to solve a variety of complex problems where only limited standardization exists, or in the absence of technical guidelines or precedents \xe2\x80\xa2 Requires a commitment to quality and teamwork QUALIFICATIONS \xe2\x80\xa2 Bachelor of Science in Engineering \xe2\x80\xa2 PE License (preferred) \xe2\x80\xa2 Ten years of progressively responsible experience in mechanical or electrical consulting engineering \xe2\x80\xa2 History of leadership roles such as a project manager, team lead, department supervisor, mentor, etc.
