The Psychological Science Department is looking for a Federal Work Study student office assistant whose abilities are performing clerical tasks, providing customer service and supporting the administrative specialist in an academic setting to ensure the office is running efficiently. We seek applicants who are enthusiastic, proactive, and demonstrate a willingness to learn on the job to support student success.

In order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements.

FWS is a need-based, federally funded program. FWS requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and confirmation of federal work-study eligibility as determined by the financial aid office. FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program. The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals. Essential Functions

Greet visitors who come into our office including students, faculty, and administrators Answer phones, taking messages, sending emails Support faculty and staff needs such as: making copies, distributing correspondence, and other special projects Partake in setting up/taking down events for special events hosted by the department Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a Federal work Study Student (must have FAFSA application completed before applying) High School Diploma or GED Certificate Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Google Suite knowledge
Effective oral and written communication skills

Psychology Major Prior customer service experience Flexibility with day-to-day functions
