Summary Statement of Duties:



The Office Administrator oversees the administrative responsibilities in the church office at Lenexa United Methodist Church. This position works in the spirit of cooperation with other members of the staff and members of the congregation. This is a 20-25 hour per week position, reports and is responsible to the Senior Pastor.

Position start date February 3, 2026



Qualifications:



1. Committed to Christ and the Mission of Lenexa United Methodist Church.

2. Human Relations and language (verbal and written) skills

3. Computer knowledge and experience with numerous software packages

4. Working knowledge of a variety of other office equipment, plus general office skills

5. Previous Office Management experience preferred.

6. Must be available Mondays-Thursdays 9am-3pm

Responsibilities



Provide Administrative/clerical Assistance to the Senior Pastor, church staff and church committees. Greet visitors to the office, a constant presence in the office is important. Maintain and Manage Church Event Calendar. Coordinate Building Usage Contracts and Support for different usage events Answer phones, direct calls and opperate door systems, ensuring professional etiquette at all times. Recruit, supervise and manage office volunteers. Maintain confidentiality and flexibility with staff and congregation. Know and use a variety of computer software (including but not limited to Microsoft office, Shelby database, email and social networking, Video camera softwaremanagement. Coordinate the repair/maintenance;/inspection of church property and equipment, working with vendors and with the church property management team, preschool director and custodians as needed. Order and maintain inventory of office supplies, janitorial supplies, worship supplies, building maintenance supplies and anything else requested. Maintain printer, manage regular bulk printing tasks Coordinate mailings, Take mail to the post office as needed. Maintain and update church management program, mailing lists, and other distribution lists within the Church Management Software. Maintain general files for manuals, inspection reports, vendor information, contacts etc Be a point person for the office, a hub of communication connecting people with information and proper staff or committee chairs as needed, including maintaing and responded to office emails. Maintain Church records of membership, baptisms etc. Provide administrative support including document preparation, filing, and data entry. Communicate effectively with Senior Pastor, Staff and Congregation. Other reports as directed Other duties as assigned by the Pastor.

Skills



Strong clerical skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting. Familiarity with phone systems and excellent phone etiquette. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of administrative procedures and office management practices. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week
