BHCOR - Corbin Third floor is a 73-bed medical-surgical-Telemetry unit dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac diagnoses. We offer compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the continuum of recovery. Our team specializes in post-operative management, medical stabilization, and ongoing treatment of acute and chronic conditions. The third floor is committed to delivering high-quality, coordinated care that supports safe healing, patient education, and optimal outcomes for every individual we serve.
The Nursing Department Director directs the operations, programs, and activities in a specified clinical area of the hospital such as Critical Care, Maternal and Child Care, Medical/Surgical, or Ambulatory Care. Provides leadership for department and twenty-four accountability for budgetary and performance criteria. Provides assurance of culturally sensitive, high quality patient care in accordance with evidence, based practice current research and standards of nursing practice. Collaborates with appropriate governing body, management, medical staff, and other leaders in the development of hospital-wide patient care programs, policies, procedures and performance improvement initiatives. Forms partnerships within nursing and across other disciplines to encourage excellence in service and care. The Nursing Director is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect and empathy - honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.

Director of Nursing 3rd Floor
Ensures safe, high-quality nursing care in compliance with professional standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Develops and implements evidence-based nursing practices, policies, and procedures to improve patient outcomes.
Monitors quality indicators and patient care outcomes and adjusts systems and processes as needed.
Manages staffing levels, skill mix, and resources based on patient acuity, census, and scope of services.
Provides leadership in staff supervision, including orientation, performance evaluation, coaching, and corrective action in accordance with organizational policies.
Ensures staff compliance with mandatory education, employee health requirements, and organizational compliance programs.
Oversees departmental budgeting, expense control, and productivity, including effective management of FTEs and flex budgeting principles.
Promotes a culture of quality improvement, accountability, and continuous process enhancement.
Demonstrates effective leadership through collaboration, communication, mentoring, and staff empowerment.
Supports shared governance, interdisciplinary collaboration, and alignment with hospital goals and strategic priorities.
Fosters a healing environment through compassionate, respectful interactions and a strong focus on patient satisfaction and customer service.
