Under direction of the Medical and Dental Assistant Statewide Medical Director, Clinical Operations Division, provides advanced level expertise in leading continuous quality improvement initiatives, which includes conducting comprehensive mortality reviews, managing projects, electronic health record implementation, developing and revising organizational policies, and implementing quality improvement practices to ensure the highest standard of patient care and regulatory compliance in support of the Department of State Hospital's goals and objectives

Working Conditions


The position is eligible for up to 45% telework, with at least 55% of their time spent onsite at their base hospital or traveling to other DSH facilities in fulfillment of departmental and program needs. This position will also require travel, approximately 20% of the time, to all State Hospitals and DSH-Sacramento. The required 20% of travel may be included in this 55%. This position does not qualify for Safety Pay

+ Applicants must possess a master's degree in nursing, a master's degree in a clinical field related to nursing, or a graduate degree in nursing and one of the following:
+ Successful completion of a nurse practitioner education program approved by the Board;
+ National certification as a nurse practitioner in one or more categories listed in Section 1481(a) from a national certification organization accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies or the American Board of Nursing Specialties.
