Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Nurse to join our healthcare team. Under the general direction of the Administrator, the nurse will direct and coordinates health and well-being care for all members at facility. Nurses are responsible for the coordination of health care needs, evaluation and improvement of program services; management of staff; and the delivery of high quality services as determined by the members. Nurses are also responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality services in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of The Pride Group and complies with applicable state laws and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



1. Assure the provision of high quality nursing care services for each member.

2. Ensure ongoing compliance with appropriate local, state, and federal regulatory and /or accrediting body standards (chapter 57).

3. Assume accountability for the organization, and implementation of approved policies and procedures.

4. Direct and supervise scheduling of employees

5. Provide management and communicate with facility staff providing clear, concise information

6. Utilize professional communication skills in dealing with staff, public, and members.

7. Actively promote staff participation, teambuilding, and involvement in the day-to-day operations and decision making.

8. Responsible to conduct tours and actively participate and promote the facility for the purposes of family and public relations

9. Perform and direct resident care including assistance/prompting with ADL's, administration of medications, treatment and other identified areas of the service plan

10. Ensure a safe and sanitary environment is provided for staff and members; makes efforts to reduce safety hazards, accidents, and injuries.

11. Responsible for attendance and implementation of pre-assessment and ongoing member assessments, quarterly summaries, and OAP meetings/plans.

12. Ensure that Staff Development education is provided

13. Assist in training employees, conduct counseling interviews and initiate disciplinary action if needed

14. Prepare written employee performance evaluations and initiate recommendations for salary increases, promotions, and/or terminations.

15. Ensure all employee orientation is complete including TB test.

16. Monitor and maintain records reflecting member's physical and mental condition. Report significant changes in member's condition to his/her primary care MD/PAC/ARNP

17. Implement and direct the policies and procedures of the facility and communicate the program philosophy and goals.

18. Direct and follow up with appropriate staff, members, or other individuals regarding member complaints and grievances.

19. Complete and analyze all incidents/accidents, suspected abuse, neglect or misappropriation of money or property and unusual occurrences and timely report to administrator for further follow up.

20. Ensure that the OAP plans and Level of Care changes are documented and implemented according to policies and procedures.

23. Coordinate and complete the admit procedure to the facility, ensuring satisfactory integrations to the facility.

24. Coordinate, complete, and monitor discharge of members per transfer or upon death.

25. Inform the Administrator of any problems or circumstances, which may compromise the integrity of the facility.

26. Willing to be on-call 24 hours a day and 7 days per week and see that emergencies are taken care of immediately

27. Able to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily, if needed.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:



This position functions under the direct supervision of the administrator.

TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:



Education/Certification/License

- Valid Iowa Professional Nurse License (RN or LPN)

- Current CPR- within 60 days of hire

- Valid Iowa Chauffer Driver's License

- Must be at least 18 years old

- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred

- Must maintain professional continuing education

- Current Physical and TB test

- Current Mandatory Adult Abuse Reporter Certificate- within 60 days of hire

Knowledge

- Must have a desire to work with the Mentally ill

Experience

- Demonstrated effective supervisory, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Demonstrated ability to direct and manage other staff

Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
