Armed Commissioned Security Officer

With over 200 years of law enforcement and military training, the Tier One leadership team is equipped with the knowledge and first-hand experience to develop comprehensive security strategies for school campuses, faith-based organizations, and vulnerable communities. Through leadership, education, and training we aim to change the culture and perception of public safety.

You will observe/report information on criminal organizations and individuals, develop link analysis intelligence while working in partnership with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to reduce crime in underserved neighborhoods.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School degree or equivalent
Ability to commit to 1-year due to Tier One investment.
Ability to handle physical workload
Clean criminal background and driving record
Strong attention to detail

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
Must be able to work flexible hours, possible weekends and nights, some holidays, and/or in emergency situations. May be required to work beyond normal hours. Examples of emergencies include medical emergencies, active shooter situations, and suicide intervention, to list a few.

Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors which may result in exposure to inclement weather and be able to walk, run, climb, crawl, sit or stand for extended periods of time and must be able to perform all activities faced by emergency first responders. May be required to assist with directing traffic/pedestrian crossing when necessary; ability to investigate suspicious circumstances, persons, vehicles, etc. Tier One medical professional will conduct a fit for duty physical to determine applicants are fit physically for duty

Must be able to demonstrate the ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues that arise in the area of responsibility; must be able to effectively communicate with business owners, customers and law enforcement professionals; extensive communications (verbal and written) is required; will be responsible for managing witnesses and others when handling or responding to incidents; requires the use of sound judgment; and possess the ability to work with everyone. Tier One psychiatrist will conduct a mental health and fitness screening to determine if applicants are mentally and emotionally fit for duty

Required basic computer proficiency including the ability to operate Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other office software platforms such as incident reporting software

TRAINING:
Tier One Training Academy provides a full spectrum of security training for anyone seeking a career in this field.

• All training provided is part of the application process and individuals will NOT be compensated for their time. L4 and PI applicants will be required to take a polygraph and psychological exam. However, these exams may be required of ALL employees, at any time, during their career with Tier One.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Varies due to assignment and specific post orders.

PAY:
Entry Level is $15 to $17 per hour.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ADA REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to walk, run, climb, crawl, or sit for extended periods of time. Work in inclement weather. Incumbent may spend extended periods of time patrolling and investigating crimes on property, both in automobiles and on foot. Incumbent may be required to physically restrain parties involved in a conflict. In extreme cases, incumbent may be exposed to violent and/or armed confrontations. Physical fitness tests are required yearly. This position may involve routine exposure to blood or body fluids. Regular attendance is required for this position.
