Lifeworks is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that individuals with autism lead healthy and enriched lives by providing essential clinical services across the lifespan. Founded in 2013, Lifeworks provides residential, vocational, and educational opportunities for adults throughout Northeast Ohio with a diagnosis of autism. Among its array of services, the agency offers behavioral health and Applied Behavior Analytic services for individuals of all ages who are on the spectrum.

Position Summary:

Lifeworks Autism Services is hiring a Non-medical transportation (NMT) Driver to join our growing team. The NMT Driver will be charged with providing supporting transportation for individuals attending Lifeworks day programs and community integration outings, assisting with transportation to and from medical appointments, and other miscellaneous duties as required during day program hours for individuals within the Lifeworks Day and Vocational Services programs and Supported Living Services programs. The NMT Driver will report to the respective program director of their division and is responsible for participating in the transportation elements of the program\xe2\x80\x99s operations, with a charge to provide transportation services and supports for adults with autism.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide oversight of supports, interventions, and client safety and well-being within Lifeworks NMT transportation vehicle.
• Participate in ongoing trainings and certification to ensure Lifeworks operates in accordance with established rules and regulations for the agency and all involved governing bodies.
• Responsible for compliance with all rules, regulations, and accreditation standards related to supported living programs
• Participate in team meetings as needed
• Provide for the safety of all consumers and staff
• Develop trusting, positive relationships among consumers and staff in the facility
• Initiate and facilitate all necessary communication with members of the team
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of data and records within NMT services and through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards
• Assure the safety and well-being of each consumer while promoting independence and respecting each individual\xe2\x80\x99s choices, needs, and rights.

Qualifications:

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders, child and adolescent development, human sexuality, family dysfunction, psychology, sociology, and behavior theory.
• Openness to multi-disciplinary and eclectic approaches to treatment.
• Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths, aptitudes, and abilities.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the Agency\xe2\x80\x99s insurance company.
