We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized

New Patient Referral Coordinator

to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in ensuring a seamless patient onboarding by delivering exceptional customer service while managing scheduling, check-in/check-out, insurance verification, and other front-desk operations. The Coordinator ensures a smooth, welcoming, and efficient experience for all new and returning patients.

This role is ideal for candidates passionate about healthcare administration and dedicated to providing exceptional service to patients while supporting efficient practice workflows.

Job Duties



Greet patients and visitors in a courteous, professional manner Answer and direct incoming phone calls; take and relay accurate messages Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments Manage incoming new patient referrals, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate Maintain and update electronic health records and confidential documents Coordinate the intake process for new patients, including scheduling assessments Prepare and send patient intake packets and referral communications Track incoming referrals, maintain referral logs, and generate related reports Post and manage daily office assignments and room/space availability Communicate scheduling updates or patient concerns to clinicians promptly Maintain inventory and submit supply requests as needed Ensure the front office and restrooms remain clean, organized, and presentable Cross-train to support additional administrative functions as needed Collaborate with clinicians to support an efficient, patient-centered schedule Identify and help resolve scheduling issues that impact clinic productivity Support office operations by performing administrative duties related to new patient intake and front office coordination processes

Experience



High School Diploma or GED required Experience with Google Suite preferred Previous experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance essential Experience working in dental or general medical offices is a plus Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in handling sensitive patient information Office experience demonstrating proficiency in administrative tasks related to healthcare operations

Job Requirements



Occasional lifting and carrying of light office supplies (up to 20 lbs) Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Ability to navigate stairs in locations without elevator access Manual dexterity to operate computers, phones, printers, and copiers

Working Conditions



Travel required between all Rhode Island Inner You Counseling Center office locations, including Johnston, Cranston, Warwick, and Cumberland Part-time position:

20-30 hours per week

Monday-Friday, with hours ranging from

9:00 AM-7:00 PM

Offers will vary depending on experience, skills, and overall fit for the position

Benefits for Part-Time Employees



Paid sick time
Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week

Work Location: In person
