General Summary: General Summary
The Network Data Specialist is accountable for updating and maintaining accurate and efficient Dental Vision provider records across multiple systems of record. The role is responsible for the collection and correction of data fields that are causing dental or vision claims to pend or adjudicate incorrectly. This role also provides additional support to internal partners within the dental vision team. Associates in this role work with multiple claims systems and systems of record, handling escalated issues and data corrections, and must be able to work independently with communication to management and other internal stakeholders. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Update Dental Vision provider records across all systems of record to ensure accurate and timely dental vision claim payments
  • Create new Out of Network Dental Vision Provider records in necessary systems of record with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Determine and update necessary data in all systems of record needed to assist in the completion of claims
  • Update provider data in system of record based on provider contract changes received, maintaining accurate provider records
  • Contribute to department productivity goals by meeting individual goals and organizational turnaround time expectations
  • Identify and share process improvement opportunities to improve the provider experience or internal user experience
  • Perform research to support data integrity efforts, and perform data entry of resultant data to ensure accurate information across all systems of record
  • Demonstrate an understanding of system issues encountered, and communicate timely when there is a need to escalate system issues
  • Research and facilitate solutions to escalated issues related to provider data, such as system errors, duplicate records, etc.
  • Make outbound calls to providers regarding inaccurate data records and collect documentation needed to update provider records
  • Process quarterly, biannual, or annual provider directory verifications in accordance with regulatory requirements, maintaining provider directory accuracy
  • Send provider updates received to leased networks on a weekly basis
  • Research and assign returned mail to appropriate departments
  • Work with Provider Relations, Customer Service, and Claims department to ensure meeting turnaround time for accurate claim processing
  • Continue to build additional knowledge and understanding of the Dental and Vision organization
  • Develop and maintain partnerships and open communications with peers and leadership
  • May perform other duties as assigned, including special projects
Job Specifications
  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience
  • Prior relevant experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate good investigative, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Action oriented, results driven and a team player that includes working with team members in a cross-site work environment
  • Exceptional data entry skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work individually while working towards a team goal
  • Ability to gain high level knowledge involving Network Operations systems of record
  • Ability to multi-task, with a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy

Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience. $31,200.00-$49,600.00 Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
