Washington Trust is seeking a Mortgage Closer to join our growing Retail Lending division. This position will join a team that ensures the timely and accurate closing of mortgage loans according to regulations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinating loan closings with the loan officers, attorneys and title companies Preparing both the initial and final closing disclosure in accordance with TRID guidelines Preparing closing documents for all purchase and refinance mortgage loan transactions Initiating follow up on all outstanding items after the loan closes Funding loans, sending wires, cutting checks

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED. BS/BA degree in a business program preferred Two years of relevant experience in mortgage loan processing or closing Familiarity with guidelines for all types of mortgage loans including Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA, VA and state housing agencies Experience with one or more bank/mortgage industry Loan Origination Systems (Encompass) Strong attention to detail Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills, as well as prior experience with CRM systems Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills

The position may be based out of our Westerly (RI) or Warwick (RI) locations with anticipated remote days.
