Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Research Associate with broad technical experience and demonstrated success executing scientific experiments using molecular techniques. This position will work closely with scientists in the New Traits team at our St. Louis location to support early trait discovery, as well as optimization of genome editing methods in sugarcane.
Looking for someone to be primarily responsible for gene editing responsibilities- DNA extractions/PCR and subsequent reporting and interpretations. THis is a role that requires a ton of attention to detail as well as a LEARNING mentality- they want people who are eager to take on learning new techniques and take ownership over seeing experiments through. They are smaller scale- no automation- so all done by hand and function more like an academic group, but they operate on tight turnarounds or roughly 1 week per experiment. Will also involve some sample prep and basic pipetting to evaluate. Will do some routine testing but also responsible for working closely with a Sr Scientist to develop new genetic traits for sugarcane
