Associate Scientist - Microbiologist NovoBiotic Pharmaceuticals, LLC is a biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of new drugs from previously unculturable bacteria and fungi. The vast majority of microbes in nature have remained uncultured and inaccessible to drug discovery. Our discovery platform overcomes this long-standing problem by providing access to the >99% of microbes previously believed to be \xe2\x80\x9cunculturable\xe2\x80\x9d. These bacteria and fungi are used as source material for the development of new antibiotics and other therapeutics. Our company is seeking a creative and energetic individual to join our microbiology team. :
We are currently seeking to hire a microbiologist with 0 to 5 years of experience. The successful applicant will perform microbiology lab work and data analysis to discover previously unculturable microorganisms from soil environments and their identification by molecular taxonomy methods.
Additional duties will include daily laboratory tasks such as reagent prep as well as detection of antibiotic production from these organisms and in vitro characterization of their properties. Experience and qualifications strongly preferred:
- Bacterial culture and aseptic technique
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking
- Proactive and able to prioritize in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work independently
- Interest in environmental microbiology Minimum requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Biology/Microbiology
