Mental Health Specialist III - Program Manager for the Adult Team

is a critical role in our Behavioral Health Operations.

Our Behavioral Health Department has an immediate opening for a Program Manager overseeing the Adult Team. The Adult Team provides support, counseling and education of mental health services to adults in need in our community, and may be assigned to provider supervision and case management for individuals in the County under the Psychiatric Review Board.

Here's what you would be doing:



Responsible for Adult Case Management and Medical Services Coordinators, Recruits, hires, supervises, completes annual performance evaluations, recommends merit increases, initiates and completes disciplinary actions. Provides direct supervision and training to staff. Ensure that staff and all processes adhere to department, County, and Bargaining Unit policies and procedures; and comply with contract requirements, state and federal laws governing department services, and privacy/security laws governing protected health information (HIPAA). Directs team-based care through an ongoing process of assessment and treatment planning in coordination with the local and state hospital system, judicial system and community partners Assigns and distributes work activities to ensure clinical services are available during clinic hours of operation. Identifies areas for program and staff development and initiate methods to address identified needs. Mentors staff to problem-solve and develop solutions to department needs and issues. Designs program objectives to meet the needs of the consumer, family, community and department and develops methods to evaluate success of meeting said objectives. Reviews/approves client Treatment Plans, Referrals for Therapy/Case Management and other clinical services. Provides coordination of Residential Placements: foster care, residential treatment facilities, and long-term placement through Comagine. Provides supervision of Mental Health licensed Foster Homes including licensing, rate setting, payments, completing Incident Reports, and acting as liaison with state licensing staff. Has basic knowledge and understanding of Pre-commitment rules and processes to help support staff with investigation. Provides team support for individuals transitioning out of higher levels of care including coordination with the ENCC. Provide backup for Brief Therapy/Crisis Services staff as needed. Assures program maintains Quality Assurance standards set by department, region, state and federal guidelines. Advises Director of program area staffing and budgetary needs. Assures program maintains financial viability, works collaboratively with Management Team to develop and implement annual budget for department.

Skills and experience we are seeking for this position include:



Masters degree in psychology, social work, psychiatric nursing or related mental health field. Minimum of 5 years progressive post graduate experience including 2 years in consultation and administration. Prefer 2 years' experience supervising staff Ability to conduct diagnosis and evaluation, treatment planning and treatment monitoring and cooperate with persons from all walks of life. Ability to learn/utilize computer medical record systems and general office equipment. Successful candidates must pass a criminal background screen through DHS. Position requires operation of a motor vehicle and DMV driving check.

Pay: $7,790.00 - $9,477.00 per month
