This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Catawba Community Mental Health Center (CCMHC), 205 Piedmont Blvd, Suite 100, Rock Hill, SC 29730
Under the supervision of the Catawba Mobile Crisis Supervisor, this position will provide triage, crisis intervention, assessment, and therapy services to adult, child, and adolescent patients at Catawba clinics. Provide consultation, crisis intervention, and short-term case management services to adult, child and adolescent patients through the Mobile Crisis team.
Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional / Daytime Mobile Crisis:
Provide triage, crisis intervention, assessment and therapy services as part of York Adult intake/triage team.
Provide emergency assessments of clients experiencing crisis. Conduct face to face consultations as needed, arriving on-site no later than 60 minutes after the receipt of call. Formulate level of care and disposition for Mobile Crisis calls. Educate patients on community resources and make arrangements for immediate disposition regarding transfers and referrals. Serve as provider of crisis intervention by administering brief individual and or/family therapy to address crisis; identify triggers for crisis behavior to include development of crisis safety plan up to initiating the process of involuntary commitment as needed. Maintain call log for quarterly crisis report.
Provide follow up calls to individuals served by Mobile Crisis. Engage in outreach contacts with community partners/agencies to increase awareness of Mobile Crisis services available in Chester, Lancaster, and York counties. Provide these services as needed during monthly visits to Chester and Lancaster clinics.
Attend and participate in weekly clinical treatment team meetings and staff patients with CCMHC MD as needed. Pursue continuing education and training. Maintain positive professional relationships with CMHC staff and community agencies as well as patients and their families. Work to overcome the stigma of mental illness and mental health services by providing education, training and support services to the community at large.
Provide coverage for a minimum of 5 afterhours Mobile Crisis shifts per month.
For MHP Student Loan Repayment:
This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

Master's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences and experience in a clinical counseling program.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to lift five (5) pounds.
In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience. Please be sure to provide specific clinical activities on your application and/or resume.

Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
Be able to work a flexible schedule and understand this position is considered essential and may be called back during crises / disasters/ emergencies.
Be able to deliver services in the community and patients' homes.
Have the ability to perform all job duties and provide all services and documentation in compliance with CARF, OMH, CCMHC, Quality Assurance, Compliance, HIPAA, Transcultural and Productivity Standards, Policies and Procedures.
