Emergency Responders Health Center (ERHC) provides highly specialized and pro-active care on behalf of a population of 1,500+ active-duty firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical responders in Idaho. Our practice model addresses the elevated health risks experienced by first responders, with an emphasis on disease prevention, aggressive health screenings, comprehensive annual exams, nutrition and wellness counseling, and patient engagement. Founded in 2004, ERHC is an independently owned and managed practice. We are seeking an experienced and versatile team player to fill the role of Medical Billing Specialist/Assistant, who will support an expanding team of physicians (family & sports medicine), nurse practitioners, physical therapists, mental health counselors, and massage therapists. ERHC team members must be able to learn quickly, adapt to change, and maintain a high level of flexibility while ensuring a quality healthcare experience for our patients. The ideal candidate will be able to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly-patient centered environment and must:

Minimum Requirements:
  • At least 1 year experience in a medical front office role, ideally in an outpatient clinic setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Excellent customer service skills while using multi-line phones.
  • A working knowledge of updating and maintaining patient demographic and medical insurance information.
  • Experience working with insurance company agencies to provide patient documentation and securing payment.
  • Experience billing workers compensation agencies a plus.
  • Must be comfortable fielding billing inquiries and collecting payments both over the phone and in person at the time of service.
  • Ability to work with and maintain strong client relationships with multiple first responder agencies.
  • Understanding of medical referrals and prior authorizations process.
  • Ability to focus and multi-task in a busy environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Meet clinic standards for consistent punctuality and attendance.
  • Be a quick learner, able to work independently after training, be motivated, and dedicated to the mission of ERHC while caring for first responders.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in clinic-based EMR applications. Knowledge of eClinicalWorks is a plus but not required.
