NARA Northwest is growing faster than ever before. We are looking for an experienced Medical Scheduler/Receptionist who can add to our dynamic medical team. This is a fast-paced environment that requires lots of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. We have fun while providing exceptional customer service. We are looking for a Scheduler/Receptionist who is confident and bright. The Native American Rehabilitation Association is a diverse company who employees individuals from all over the globe. We have a strong sense of community and look to expand the non-profit organization to help more families and people in the Portland metro area. Our clients come to us for medical, dental, and mental health assistance at one of our 11 local facilities. We take pride in what we do and go above and beyond to meet our client\xe2\x80\x99s needs. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
  • Provides an outstanding customer service experience to patients coming for treatment and appointments.
  • Answers phones in a courteous timely manner.
  • Obtains client information by answering telephone calls, interviewing clients and verifying information.
  • Informs patients by explaining procedures, answering questions and providing information.
  • Provides follow up calls regarding upcoming appointments.
  • Explains benefits.
  • Helps with medical billing.
  • Supports the medical team at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the medical team.
  • Maintains confidentiality and HIPPA compliance at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two to three years\' experience as a medical office scheduler.
  • Experience scheduling high volume of appointment on a daily basis.
  • Experience with scheduling software.
  • Medical terminology
  • Previous medical insurance knowledge.
  • Proficient in MS Office; Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Work collaboratively with clients, other NARA staff, team members. Treat all people with respect and dignity at all times.
  • Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community considered a plus.
  • If in recovery, must have a minimum of two years sobriety/clean time.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment or for cause drug test. NARA follows federal drug test standards.
