The Revenue Cycle Specialist plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by managing the financial processes associated with patient care and the staff to work as a team. This position involves overseeing the entire revenue cycle, from patient registration to billing and collections. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical management and healthcare operations, ensuring that all financial transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.
The right candidate will have demonstrated good revenue cycle management skills and be organized and detailed in the development of reports to illustrate that performance. In addition, the job is varied and interested with many facets that includes credentialing and contract negotiation as well. The practice employs full time salaried therapists and other specialists at the range of about 40-50 personnel. The practice is growing rapidly and we are busy and seeking motivated and ambitious persons to grow with the company.
Responsibilities
Manage patient accounts from registration through billing and collections, ensuring timely and accurate processing of claims.
Collaborate with medical staff to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes, adhering to JCAHO standards.
Use Medisoft and Claim MD for revenue cycle management.
Manage a team of patient account representatives and billing supervisors.
Provide administrative support within the medical office, assisting with human resources and fiscal management tasks as needed.
Analyze revenue cycle performance metrics and identify areas for improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
Communicate effectively with patients regarding their accounts, resolving any issues or discrepancies promptly.
Qualifications
Previous experience in healthcare management or medical administrative support is required.
Staff management experience required.
Will be required to perform employee performance evaluations.
Manage and produce improved outcomes from staff.
Familiarity with revenue cycle processes, including billing, coding, and collections.
Knowledge of JCAHO standards and regulations related to healthcare operations.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and staff professionally.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Evaluate and coordinate with outside vendors.
