Our mission is to provide high-quality medical solutions to patients with efficiency and compassion. We're seeking a Medical Insurance Biller/Collector to join our in-office team in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of medical billing and collection experience, with a strong knowledge of insurance claim follow-up and collections. You will be responsible for processing claims, managing authorizations, following up on denials, documenting patient notes and ensuring timely reimbursement--all while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining strong communication with healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
Contact insurance companies to follow up on unpaid or delayed claims. Bill patient invoices and make follow up calls for unpaid deductibles and coinsurances.
Review and analyze medical records, bills, and insurance documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Utilize EMR systems to track account statuses and document collection efforts.
Collaborate with sales reps, physicians, and facilities to ensure complete and accurate billing documentation.
Verify insurance details, obtain authorizations, and manage single-case agreements.
Submit and follow up on claims through Medicare, Medicaid, Integra Partners, commercial payers, and private pay orders.
Investigate and resolve denied or unpaid claims in a timely manner.
Manage credentialing processes with payers and through Niko Health for ERA/EFT setups.
Utilize Niko Health and Parachute Health platforms for order and claim management.
Ensure clear and professional communication with patients, providers, and internal staff.
Prioritize tasks with a sense of urgency and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
5+ years of medical billing experience (required).
Experience with NYS Medicaid, Medicaid MCO's, Medicare, Integra Partners, and commercial insurers.
Familiarity with Niko Health, Brightree or similar EMR/billing platforms.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Must be able to commute to Dobbs Ferry, NY (on-site role only).
