Job Summary: Intake Specialist
Join our team as an Intake Specialist, where you will play a vital role in enhancing patient care in our trans care unit! Your contributions will ensure that each patient has an accurate and complete medical record, while also providing essential support to our physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Daily Management: You'll start each day by printing the daily schedule and keeping our physicians updated about any changes or issues as they arise.
2. Patient Triage: You'll efficiently triage patients according to facility protocols, ensuring that all necessary information, from pharmacy details to vital statistics and comprehensive medical histories, is accurately recorded in our intake forms and electronic medical records (EMR).
3. Documentation: As part of your role, you'll upload photographic documentation, such as images of wounds and lower extremities, into the EMR, making a real difference in our patient records!
4. Organizational Skills: Keeping our patient charts organized throughout the day will be crucial, helping to maintain a smooth patient flow from intake to treatment.
5. Administrative Tasks: You'll ensure that copy paper is stocked in the clinical printer, and you will manage incoming faxes on a regular schedule, keeping operations running smoothly.
6. Communication: You will be the key point of contact for pharmacy refill requests and home-call requests, ensuring physicians are alerted when a signature or additional information is needed.
7. Medical Records Management: Handle all incoming and outgoing medical records requests with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring they are scanned and classified correctly by the close of business.
8. Task Recap: At the end of each day, you'll send a recap of all completed and pending tasks, helping to keep everyone informed and on the same page.
Position Details:
- Type: Full-Time
- Hours: Monday - Friday / No Weekends
- Experience: A minimum of 3 months of experience with Athena is preferred. While prior healthcare experience as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is a plus, it's not mandatory.
- Language Skills: Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred, but fluent English is required.

- Familiarity with medical terminology and abbreviations is essential. You should have clear handwriting for accurately recording exam information.
- Strong computer skills, with a knack for quickly learning new applications, and effective communication abilities are vital.
